QUETICO PROVINCIAL PARK – ARTIST RESIDENCY
July 2015
Quetico Park is an internationally renowned area of pristine wilderness. During her Artist Residency at Quetico, Judith Doyle conducts a workshop exploring gesture, film and motion capture with dancer Cody Ottertail Berry (see video).

Located west of Lake Superior on the Canada-U.S border, Quetico Provincial park shares its southern border with Minnesota's Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness which is part of the larger Superior National Forest. Quetico is near the Lac La Croix First Nation, where Judith Doyle directed a ground-breaking 1988 documentary film (see video). Judith Doyle will return to the First Nation during her Residency to discuss a sequel to the film. In Quetico, she will conduct a workshop exploring gesture in trees, wildlife and water, using light digital cameras including a depth camera developed in the SMAClab at OCAD University, working with dancer Cody Ottertail Berry.
